The Department of Orthopaedics at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking applications for a Research Instructor to grow their multidisciplinary musculoskeletal research program focusing on sports medicine, motor control, injury biomechanics, injury prevention strategies and brain injury neuroscience.

Candidates for the Research Instructor position must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent with productive post-doctoral training period preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the above areas of interest and exhibit experience with extramural funding applications. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong publication record as an early investigator. The ideal candidate will have experience in coupled laboratory/neuroimaging and epidemiology with a preference toward concussion and brain injury research. Experience with neuroimaging, EEG/MEG neuromodulation, software engineering, and best-practice analytical methods for managing, storing, analyzing, and visualizing biometric data to facilitate concussion treatment and prevention research goals is also preferred.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop collaborations with clinician scientists in the Department of Orthopaedics and within the musculoskeletal research community. They will also be encouraged to interact with broader collaborative community of researchers and clinicians at Emory University as well as other partnering institutions.

While these positions are not focused on teaching, participation in the overall education mission of the University will be highly recommended.
